A delightful evergreen, Photinia x fraseri 'Red Robin' is ideal for formal or garden hedging as it takes well to trimming and looks just as attractive when left a little bit bushy.

How fast growing are Photinia?

Red tip photinias reach full maturity rather quickly — between two and four weeks. They can grow up to three metres in height and width. But some photinia species take longer to grow. For example, Chinese photinia (Photinia serrulate) can take anywhere between five and 12 years to reach full maturity.

Photinias like sun or partial shade – flowering and leaf colour are usually best in full sun. They also prefer a sheltered position. The young shoots can become scorched by cold or drying winds and late frosts if grown in an exposed site.
